There is no requirement for 51% of Republican’s to approve.

You still haven’t supported your statement that she wouldn’t send an impeached President to the Senate unless she was sure of Senate conviction.

Regardless does anyone really think this impeachment process will be bipartisan? Or will it go like today right down party lines? One doesn’t have to be a rabid Trump supporter to see the end game in the Senate.

Now that I fully agree with.

Trump will be impeached and it will be sent to the Senate.

IMHO I give it about a 5% chance of him being convicted. Much more likely is Mitch will have a very accurate nose count of the GOP Senators and will release a limited number to vote for impeachment but yet it will result in votes 2 or 3 shy of conviction.

I think this because I believe behind closed doors Mitch hates Trump for jepardizing GOP control of the Senate with his abuses of power coupled with the fact that the Senate class up for reelection is much different in terms of party distribution than it was in 2018 where there were many more DEM Senators on the ballot than GOP. Not that same next year.

No there was nothing bipartisan in today’s vote, every single republican voted no, and only two democrats voted no. It was like every vote right down party lines which Pelosi previously said impeachment would have to be a bipartisan affair or it would hurt the country.

Maybe your boy shouldn’t have sent Rudy G. and two Ukranian ■■■■■■■ mobsters to try to run foreign policy in Ukraine. Or overtly made a quid pro quo clear in a call to Ukraine’s president. Otherwise known as not doing the stupidest things possible.

Interesting historical note: Feb 6, 1974…vote in House to authorize an impeachment inquiry against Richard Nixon passes by a vote of 410 for, 4 against.

Vote re Trump impeachment inquiry: For = 234 Democrats
Against = 194 Republicans and 2 Democrats

Another interesting historical note. When impeachment went to the Senate, public support for impeachment was 19%.

Senate hearings haven’t even started and already support for removing Trump is at 50%.
