“overwhelming and bipartisan”. How was today’s vote in congress? Was it a bipartisan result?

And the quote doesn’t support what you said. Here is what you said: “She said her thing was not sending something to the Senate that she knew had no chance of passing…”. That quote says nothing about not sending an impeached President to the Senate.

This is from March. Two things have changed. The Presidents abuse of power by attempting to withhold aid for personal political gain wasn’t even known about then. In addition there is now bipartisan support for removal shown by polls showing a majority of American’s support impeachment.

No there was nothing bipartisan in today’s vote, every single republican voted no, and only two democrats voted no. It was like every vote right down party lines which Pelosi previously said impeachment would have to be a bipartisan affair or it would hurt the country.

There is no requirement for 51% of Republican’s to approve.

You still haven’t supported your statement that she wouldn’t send an impeached President to the Senate unless she was sure of Senate conviction.

Regardless does anyone really think this impeachment process will be bipartisan? Or will it go like today right down party lines? One doesn’t have to be a rabid Trump supporter to see the end game in the Senate.

Now that I fully agree with.

Trump will be impeached and it will be sent to the Senate.

IMHO I give it about a 5% chance of him being convicted. Much more likely is Mitch will have a very accurate nose count of the GOP Senators and will release a limited number to vote for impeachment but yet it will result in votes 2 or 3 shy of conviction.

I think this because I believe behind closed doors Mitch hates Trump for jepardizing GOP control of the Senate with his abuses of power coupled with the fact that the Senate class up for reelection is much different in terms of party distribution than it was in 2018 where there were many more DEM Senators on the ballot than GOP. Not that same next year.
