Oops. I don’t know the answer to that either.

Exactly how does “she owe them a gold medal”?

Team player. They were a cinch for the gold. Each person on that team owes it to their teammates to do their very best. No distractions; no politics; no emotional sob story.

Being sexually molested is not an emotional sob story. I realize she didn’t reference that, but it has to be a factor. PTSD

No it doesn’t.

It’s swimming around in her mind at all times. Maybe I could have said it’s highly likely, I won’t go any less than that.

If that was a factor she never should have gone to Tokyo in the first place.

She has won many medals since it happened. Clearly she thought she could do it again.

not even close, what you’re saying is more akin to claiming the fans sitting at home watching the game helped. the only affect they have is on salaries, which don’t score touchdowns

Do you think she’s weak for pulling out of the team competition?

They were? Russia beat them in the qualifying round with Biles competing.

For whatever reason, Biles was distracted and mentally unfit to compete in the finals. She gave it a go on the first event and realized that her mental state would endanger her team’s chances and her own health, so she withdrew. She did the right thing for herself and her team.

really, then go find the post where i commented about the OP.

You do realize she has competed at the high level since then, right? When was she molested?

You’re still here posting comments about the Olympics? Kind of strange for someone who yesterday didn’t even know the Olympics was going on.

Contradicting yourself.

the olympics? my comments have been about sports in general and the pampered state of elite athletes. the comments about the olympics are just stating what i used to have some interest in.

I don’t think she should have been there in the first place. She was distracted and she let her teammates down.

The right thing for her team would have been for her to stay home.

Nonsense. She got the highest scores on her team in Olympic qualifiers and in the preliminary round, it wasn’t until the team final that she became unwell, at which point she dropped out. She’s a great gymnast but she can’t see into the future any better than you can.

Mmmmm
