There are laws however that are based upon science.
And they infringe on peoples freedoms.

Then isn’t obeying those laws the price we pay to live in a society?
That’s not mean we necessarily agree with all of these laws, but we are obligated to abide by them. Fortunately, in our society there is a means by which they can be changed lawfully.
some laws yes of course. societies need laws
not arguing that

And I believe some laws are stupid and should be eliminated.
I have a feeling you and I won’t fully agree on which ones should eliminated however.
you will agree if you are a fellow thinking man

Dude for once stop it…you are just as biased as everyone else.
There is no purely objective way to figure out which laws we should have and which we shouldn’t.
It’s why the fight over these laws has occurred since before this nation was ever founded.
it’s not a matter of being “objective” it’s a matter of what the benefit of the law is

It is a matter of being objective so you can figure out what the benefit is.
But again…you are no less biased than the rest of us.
i dont let my biases determine what laws i think are wrong
for instance, i never agreed with the govt banning smoking in restaurants even though i enjoy the results
you can factor out your bias. but only if you are a thinking man

It’s completely subjective. It all depends on the moral standards one judges to be best.
And I think there is a general consensus among those of us that live in a Western society that informs us and gives us (a great deal of) common ground.

That’s wrong. Completely wrong.
