Guess I’m in that 10-20%… I carry everywhere except my office and only because I like my job and they have a 30.06 sign up.

I’d suspect it would be higher than that if people were honest. My wife carries in her purse always and she’d be the last one I’d expect to carry if I only knew her a little.

I have a sister who carries in her purse as well.

As for your work situation that comes up in classes, seminars, online discussions pretty frequently. As a rule the advice is “concealed means concealed”. If you are at any sort of elevated risk at work the worst they could do is fire you and have you trespassed off the property unless it’s a school, hospital, PO etc.

Great advice. Go get fired.

How do you know that every corporate head office does not give a crap sbouf the worker. I work in a corporate head office and we very much give a crap about every worker.

Remember the psychiatrist a few years ago who had to defend himself from an armed, crazed patient?

He’d been carrying for years and nobody had a clue.

You can always find another job but knife and bullet wounds are permanent.

If she’s going to purse carry she really should look at getting a purse specifically made for carry with cut proof straps and a dedicated weapons pocket with a proper built in holster.

But that aside no employer has less liability for an employee who is killed at work as someone who is committing a crime on their premises.

No, they have a duty to provide a work place that is “reasonably” safe and meets code.

Is there anything in your state’s or city’s codes requiring they armor their work places and provided armed security to defend you from all possible threats?

Of course not.

If they could be held liable for failing to do so work place restrictions on carry would vaporize over night.

They have no responsibility to protect you from robberies or grudge killers and thus as such have very little liability if you are wounded or killed at work.

If however an employee wounds or kills someone they have massive liability.

I really hope no one takes the brilliant advice to ignore any restrictions an employer may put on carrying firearms.

That insurance is to pay for incidences where they are found to be negligent.

They have no duty to protect you hence, no negligence.
