Whomever that officer is has no concept of immunology or epidemiology.
With 50% of cases being completely asymptomatic the two week timeline is perfectly reasonable and well within the window of opportunity.

No, there has not. It will be about a month or so, as they announced earlier this week they are going to wait until the investigation of what transpired is completed before making a final decision on reinstatement.

There are some concerns that some above Capt Crozier may not have done their job(s.) Capt Crozier was backed into a corner. He has accepted responsibility in his decision. I hope things come out in his favor and other heads roll.

Ive been saying since the beginning he should have been let go. You dont broadcast sensitive information on the readiness of your ship through gmail. Still cant believe he did something so dumb.

It took a while, but my original viewpoint in the OP of this thread has been vindicated. 
However, I wish Captain Crozier well in his future civilian endeavors.

Well I guess that settles that. We were right.
Maybe his intent was genuinely to protect his troops but he absolutely went about it in the worst possible way.
Sad end to an otherwise stellar career.
No doubt the defense contractors are already lining up six and seven figure offers so heāll do fine.
while I donāt know who was pushing for his reinstatement, whoever it was did him a disservice. And just my guessā¦ I bet there were politics behind itā¦ an attempt to embarrass Trump by reinstating the man who Trump criticized.
Having been relieved of command because he made a mistake in the way he tried to protect his crew, he still had honorā¦ albeit with a lapse in judgement.
But that wasnāt good enough for some. And they pushed and pushed until it had to published that he was at fault for the extent of the outbreak among his crew to begin with. So now one can legitimately question not only his judgement but his competence.
unintended consequences for sure. But preventable. The anti-Trumpers tried to use this man as a pawn and sacrificed him and failed to boot. The 7 figure offers from Industry just dropped to 6 figures.

Crozier completed a two year tour of duty as Commander of the USS Blue Ridge with the rank of Captain.
As he had greater than 2 years of adequate performance in rank, he probably will keep his pay grade of O-6 in retirement. Most likely his administrative punishment will consist of a career ending formal letter of reprimand.
When you get above 04 everything becomes political.
When you command a capital ship you will always be under a microscope and anything even questionable in your behavior/actions is a major political issue within the upper ranks.
