Coming Soon to a Defunded Police Department Near You!

I read that book years ago. The author, Dennis Smith went on to found “Firehouse Magazine” which is still in publication I believe,

I know Brooklyn isn’t small, I spent a lot of time there in my life.

Yeah, just Colombos. I kid. There are other Families too.

You’re thinking of Bensonhurst.

I knew Joseph Profaci’s grandnephew.

Then you know there are a lot of really nice areas too.

Interesting. But Colombos are a tad common in Bay Ridge too. More Dyker Heights though. Old school Persico territory.

Dyker Heights for sure. Bay Ridge, maybe today. I lived in the area during the wars of the 70s and I didn’t think Bay Ridge was really a big part of it then.

No kidding? That must have been an interesting time. Before I was born. I’m more familiar with stories of the 91-93 war. Never lived in New York, but I have met a lot of people who have stories.

I lived in Brooklyn from 68 to 89.

Canarsie?

Sunset Park

There’s a really nice area of Newark NJ too, your point?

Perfect example of why not to broad brush an entire city.

Just because a city has a nice area doesn’t mean it’s a place people desire, it’s often a place people are stuck living in. People just happened to find an enclave that wasn’t yet defiled.

What’s this thread about and where did it take place? It didn’t surprise me in the slightest. I wasn’t like, WoW, really? Brooklyn? That wasn’t the case. The shoe fits.
