The Disney of today totally deviated from Walt’s vision from yesterday and have evolved into a despicable, evil company…intent on spreading their evil message to our children. I hope they go belly up and the sooner, the better. You go Governor DeSantis!

Lol.
Ok.
You haven’t really read into the life of Walt Disney, have you?

No I’m not.
But you are against EV subsidies but you thank musk for giving us the stars with them….strange.

Because it was one heck of a deal in hindsight. In this case we got far more than we paid for.

Why should EV subsidies be any different than the subsidies that are given to all forms of energy production?
You still believe the myth that fossil fuels stand on their own without any support from the government?
Smyrna

Nope. Only what I’ve witnessed regarding the message he spread when he was alive. Am I missing something?

Are we going to pretend tax breaks are subsidies again even though they generate far more government revenue than those tax breaks? The government makes more on oil than the oil companies do.

When you tally up the sum total of government support Musk has gotten from federal, state and local governments, he hasn’t come close to “paying us back” yet.
But he has a tidy net worth, now doesn’t he?
JayJay

A lot.
Read every once in a while instead of bleating out your unsupported preconceived notions without ever once stopping to examine if they are supported by real data.

If there’s a link you’d like to post providing evidence of your claim, please do but right now…it’s nothing more than a zillion times zero.

And they “choose winners” by helping oil companies erect barriers to entry to competitors.
Especially since oil companies actually make a ■■■■ ton more than you think they do because they don’t pay for the negative externalities their industry creates.
We as a society do.

You might want to get a calculator and look up how much the US spends on putting things into orbit and calculate a two orders of magnitude cost reduction.

I am talking about ALL the things for which he has received government support.
SpaceX doesn’t even come close to paying for all of that.

You got us, we like to heat and cool our homes, fossil fuels lifted most of the globe out of poverty. Without it we would still be a bunch of poor subsistence farmers.
JayJay

Those are the benefits. I’m talking about the costs…costs oil companies don’t have to pay, which helps keep fossil fuels cheaper than they otherwise would be.

You want to pay more? You can probably just write them a check. If you want it paid at the pump instead of through tax, wouldn’t that be regressive taxation? Thought the left frowned on that? Why wouldn’t you want wealthy tax payers like me picking up the tab for lower cost fuel through a progressive tax scheme instead?

Oh and should add, Elon wasn’t given subsidies for EV’s, the EV industry was.

So then why are you against EV subsidies?
Smyrna

I am…and you should be too.
