NBC News surprised millions of readers across the country this week; publishing a new project that asked people to submit “confessions” of their latest “climate sins” like “grilling a steak” or “blasting the air conditioning.”

“Even those who care deeply about the planet’s future can slip up now and then. Tell us: Where do you fall short in preventing climate change? Do you blast the A/C? Throw out half your lunch? Grill a steak every week? Share your anonymous confession with NBC News,” posted the media outlet.

Examples include: “I sleep with the air conditioner on year-round and justify it to myself by recycling”; “I just can’t get behind the ‘impossible’ burger I’m sorry”; and “My work lunches are the worst, so much disposable everythings.”

The “confession” categories are divided into Plastics, Meat, Energy, Transportation, Paper, and Food Waste.

NBC's new site invites users to submit "Climate Confessions" on their energy use, diet, and means of transportation.

And the comments are coming in…

"I would rather the whole planet burn than give up steak. Kick rocks, hippies," one comment said.https://t.co/LOC1kRpXwy
