I have said several times that Thomas does not need to go nor do I think his relationship impacted his decision making but only he knows the truth of that.
This is why its important for the SC justices to abide by the same guiding rules set down for all other judges.
If they dont like having to be concerned with ensuring there is not even the appearance of impropriety then they can resign. No one forces them to take the job.
They are the final arbiters of the constitution and therefore the standards they are all held to should be high and exacting.

Scrutiny is fine, even desirable. But persecution using the accusation of “corruption” and the inuendo of “looks unethical” is not scrutiny, it’s tyranny. The Laws and Rules governing the conduct of Justices and other government employees, were not violated. Proof of that is the fact that the Rules were examined and rather than press forward with sanctions against Thomas, they chose to clarify the Rules so that they were clear, not only to those who must abide by them, but also to those who do the scrutinizing. As a result of that, the equivalent value of invitations to recreate with rich friends (who have no business before the Court) such as Thomas (and many other high government employees receive routinely … such as Bill Clinton’s visits to Pedophile Island … do not have to be reported, but the value of private jet (but not personal cars) transportation is, in the future, to be reported.
