To me, it is intellectually lazy to just make a blanket assertion that the media has set themselves up as the harbingers of truth while printing and repeating any and all unverified “facts” they’re fed by their political masters ad nauseam.

They don’t print every tidbit of gossip they hear. They have journalistic standards that they abide by.

The whole harbinger of truth stuff sounds like a drumbeat from Limbaugh or the like over the last 20 years.

I’d say the bigger problem is that most in the press today can’t distinguish between their own opinions and fact and those who can for the most part intentionally mislead us with their opinions pretending they are fact.
