I don’t watch Chris Coumo. I never did. I’m flipping channels and end up on his show. I listen because he is interviewing a senior Texas DPS officer who is part of operation Lone Star, on the border in Texas. He goes on about how they are doing a great job under adverse conditions, how bad the human trafficking of children is and how the last administration had agreements with other regional countries, but that this administration doesn’t have any. Then he did an article on fentanly production and smuggling.
It was pure end of times, dogs and cats living together type stuff.
There are many negative things that don’t affect me directly because I haven’t made those choices. That said, there are many among us that are OUR youth and “we the people” need to do everything in our power to keep their sandbox clean, allowing them to prosper along the path of education that “we” are paying for, so that when they reach adulthood, the eldest generation can pass the baton of responsibility off to them. They then become the necessary tax generators of our country, while living a fulfilling life preparing to again do the same for the generation following them.
In fact, the chances of me getting shot in a high school shoot-up are pretty slim, yet I hate seeing the growing trajectory of that.
Society isn’t just about me. The way more and more people seem to view things through their own self-centered prism abets the degeneration of our culture.
Seems to me the phrase “at the border” is the key one here. It’s coming through a porous border. The specifics of the mules wasn’t the point. In fact, looking back at the posts in the thread, only one person tied the flow of fentanyl to illegal immigrants.
But for the record, anyone smuggling fentanyl across the border is doing so illegally, regardless of their citizenship.
I know the point wasn’t raised in this thread, but I have seen it used a lot on these boards. I figured this was a good place to have the conversation. Don’t get me wrong. The border is a mess, but illegals aren’t responsible for the increase in fentanyl crossing.
