What is RA?

That makes sense.

Hope this works.

Usually rheumatoid arthritis.

It’s very easy to get problems on it. Even China limits it to patients under 65, without renal problems. And I think without coronary and diabetic problems but I would have to check my source.

So not for the people that it will hit the hardest.

The problem in Nigeria according to the article is that the issue was people are buying it with

“self-medicating without any sort of guidance”.

No one is saying that people should self-medicate so comparing what is done in Nigeria to what would be done here is ludicrous.

According to the study, only severe cases were given the drug.

Incorrect. Under a declared health emergency they can grant an emergency approval.

At worst the drug may not help some patients, but it can do no harm when properly dosed.

Our doc’s are well enough trained to prescribe and administer it safely.

Not at the 400mg dose and most people over 65 do not have kidney disease.

Even those who do can be given the drug and closely monitored if the likely alternative to doing so is death.

Good information and thanks.

The National Kidney Foundation says otherwise.

Kidney disease can develop at any time, but those over the age of 60 are more likely than not to develop kidney disease. As people age, so do their kidneys.

According to recent estimates from researchers at Johns Hopkins University, more than 50 percent of seniors over the age of 75 are believed to have kidney disease. Kidney disease has also been found to be more prevalent in those over the age of 60 when compared to the rest of the general population.

“Many people don’t realize that, as we age, we lose kidney function,” said Beth Piraino, MD, National Kidney Foundation President. “Unfortunately, older Americans may not realize they are at increased risk until it is too late.”

Most folks over 65 do have decreased Glomerular Filtration rates, and the older you get the worse it gets. If you have a serum creatinine of 1.0 at the age of 45, you have a normal GFR. If you are 80 with a creatinine of 1.0, you are renally compromised.

Just comes with aging.

The danger in giving Chloroquine with azithromycin is that both drugs prolong the QT interval, which can lead to sudden cardiac death via R on T phenomenon. So, at the least, you have to consider the EKG of the patient and make sure they don’t have existing EKG abnormalities such as Bundle Branch Blocks, nodal conduction issues or prior infarcts.

General info: More stories coming in about success of hydroxychloroquine treating this virus with almost miraculous success. Discussions with docs and patients on Hannity radio today … more coming on Hannity TV tonight.

Is it viral in the lungs or bacterial as a secondary infection? Serious question.

Why did the French study show better efficacy when combined with with Z-Pac?

I’m trying to figure this out…i read a week or so ago that the virus creates an involuntary explosion of immune response. Which causes the immune system to attack healthy cells. This causes not just infected cells to be killed, but healthy cells too. This causes the pneumonia. Could this pneumonia…that has been killing people be caused by bacteria due to all these cells being killed and lungs being filled with fluids?

Chloroquine is an immunosuppressive. It could be that the immune system response is why people are dying. Suppressing it somewhat may just be the answer? It is NOT an antiviral. So this may just be the answer.

I am guessing the admission for people with cardiac issues such as Afib…would be treatment given in hospital like with my wife’s tikosyn for her Afib. She had to have an EKG twice day 2 hours after each dosage…look for the elongated qT wave. I imagine that would be looked at for people with rhythm issues.

Guest on Hannity tv tonight is patient who was on death bed few days ago - said goodbye to his family. Gave him a drip mix of hydroxychloroquine and something else. Had somewhat violent reaction (heart pounding, anxiety, etc ), gave him Benadryl to help him sleep, next day he felt great and they are discussing releasing him from hospital.

I’ve got some snake oil to sell you.

That heart pounding racing was the prolonged qT wave.

I see one person has died from this because they listened to trump…

So that’s a good thing …s/
