It’s not up to Cuomo. Do you have any links that show he is prohibiting it’s use?

That’s the best news I’ve heard since this pandemic has begun. Thanks for posting it.

It’s a cinch that doctors will administer it on nothing-to-lose “compassionate use” grounds. But if they’re going to do that, why not turn it into a true drug trial and start tracking the results systematically instead of just dosing it out haphazardly? You have thousands of “test subjects.” If the drug is effective, it’s a gamechanger for the whole world. Let’s collect the data.

Yogi… @NebraskaFootball isn’t gonna like this. :sunglasses:

Latest French study of 11 patients finds no benefit to taking hydrochloroquine with ZPack.

One patient had to have the treatment discontinued because of an elongated heart rate (a side effect of these drugs that has to be monitored).

That’s two of three studies now that have been unable to replicate either the reduction in viral load or shortened recovery times the first French study showed.

So we are still getting no definitive answer that the drug is of broad benefit.

None of that matters.

It will still be touted as a miracle cure that the evil Dems are keeping from people to win an election.

Marcus Zervos, infectious disease doctor for Henry Ford Health System, said they had seen success with hydroxychloroquine therapy in a number of COVID-19 patients. He said those given the drug were able to get off a ventilator and out of the hospital faster.

“…but say more clinical trials are needed”.

Hence my conclusion still stands that there has been no definitive determination these drugs are benefiting people broadly yet.

I understand and that’s being done, right now in NYC.

Right…but now you can see why states like Michigan were doing all they could to prevent hoarding of the medicine, and they weren’t just being “evil Dems who want the pandemic to last so Trump doesn’t win re-election”.

The drug is showing promise…and more trials are going on as we speak. This is nothing but great news.

The jury is decidedly out on the drug…which is why it should not be overhyped until we have more definitive evidence.

That is the more realistic stance to take…be optimistic, but wait for the trials to read out.

Exactly.

There is evidence that in some circumstances that the drug may help to alleviate the duration and severity of a covid-19 infection.

But that is all that we know.

People touting it as a miracle cure are doing more harm than good.

It’s so successful they need to start investigating why people are still dying and why fake news and Governors are ignoring it.

Who is ignoring it, please provide evidence of same.

That’s true but it’s the best bet and that’s why this trial is going forth…in spite of lib negativity towards it.

Which “Libs” have negativity towards it?

Libs speak for themselves.

Nobody has negativity towards it.

Are some of you seriously unable to not make a political issue out of absolutely everything?

Yeah…right. Libs don’t want a cure. My God man…think before you write this garbage. Do you really think liberals don’t want to find a cure?

That’s just sad.
