Really? Perhaps I was mistaken.

Fiber used in biomedical applications must not only be safe, sterile, and robust enough for autoclaving, but also highly stable and reliable to ensure accurate diagnostics and, most importantly, safety for patients. The unique characteristics of deep-ultraviolet (deep-UV) fiber help enable advanced biomedical diagnostic equipment, including patient diagnostics, instruments for minimally invasive surgical procedures, and sensors attached directly to the body for monitoring purposes.
A majority of fiber used in spectroscopy is used for material and optical sensing in the mid-UV range down to 190 nm. Many biomedical sensing applications require optical fibers that transmit light in the UV region. Within the industry, demand is rising for laser and other biomedical equipment using deep-UV fiber. Such fiber is suitable for laser delivery in eye surgery, plastic surgery, urology, and other procedures requiring a combination of UV light and smaller-core-diameter fiber.
Go ahead Doc, tell us more about your expertise in the field of using UV light internally.

Sure. Youâre just proposing that to cover up for China. Iâm totally on to you libs
I think my wifeâs hair iron might work to cure coronavirus. The only problem is, it says right on the tag âFor External Use Onlyâ.
if we just build one for âinternal useâ, it might work.
I legitimately didnât realize until now itâs out and out hero worship. Even Trump can say he was full of â â â â and still the defense continues.

I donât doubt that it could burn, however, what kind of radiation does it consist of that could cause cancer? Gamma radiation is extremely harmful.
ETA: Okay so I looked it up and apparently it has short wavelengths which means that itâs on the higher end of the spectrum (duh, being UV). So does that mean that all UV waves emit gamma radiation? Or just UVB and UVC rays?
You are entirely missing the point.
I have not argued that it was impossible to expose the lungs to UC-V. I have only said it would be a bad idea to do so.
And again, you know less about this than Trump and thatâs hilarious.
Just hit the retreat button and move on.
This product doesnât exist.
its simply a theory
No, I believe that is projection on your part.
Lol this is definitely what Trump was talking about. Heâs so well known as a med tech wonk.
I hear you but Iâm not sure Presidential pressers on a pandemic are the place to riff on ideas. What do you think?
Learn to read before diving in.
A new solarization-resistant silica fiber can be used even at the 214 and 265 nm absorption bands of silica and at small diameters useful for in vivo medical applications.
Obviously it exists.
I think youâre both right in a sense. They use UV light for autoclaving because it destroys the cross-linked chains of peptidoglycan in bacteria cell walls. They also use it for shellacs to âsetâ the polish. However, Iâll bet that that is in very small quantities.
I do not know any specifics regarding how much would be needed to disinfect. Usually autoclaving is at an extremely high temperature, almost like an incenerator.
Yes the fiber exist.
but they are theorizing its use in medical field.
You can also use it directly, to disinfect surfaces. Although since a disinfectant spray is easier (and cheaper), it is rarely used in that context.
And the tools to implement itâs use in the respiratory tract have existed for decades.
Now go learn something instead of just flinging â â â â .

And again you are hilariously wrong. Trumpâs pathetic sarcasm excuse shows he really was blowing brain farts out there
No it simply shows his usual retreat when he gets jumped on.
He has two primary tactics, attack the critic or attempt to blow it off as a joke etc.
