Yes. They developed fatal heart arrhythmias. Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine both prolong the QT interval. If severe, you die.

I expect that being unable to breathe may have had a lot to do with that.

That is what I was trying to determine, too. was it compassionate use where there were too many complications? Sneakydude I suspect that there a lot of âexpertsâ who do not have a clue and use fake news talking points.

Can you imagine what the Libs would have said and done if Trump would have shut down the Dems nomination process and sent the Senate home during the impeachment due to some flu in China? â â â â â â Shifty and Nasty Nancy would have immediately started another impeachment.

They are going to try that anyway. Adam Pile of Schiff has already indicated he is ready. No Blink Nancy is a basket case.

Hereâs more from the article.
Within three days, researchers started noticing heart arrhythmias in patients taking the higher dose. By the sixth day of treatment, 11 patients had died, leading to an immediate end to the high-dose segment of the trial.
Here is an quote from the actual study.
The high dose CQ arm presented more QTc>500ms (25%), and a trend toward higher lethality (17%) than the lower dosage.

Who authorized the higher dose?
In the high-dose segment, all of those that died did so because of a fatal arrhythmia. Over a quarter of those in the high-dose segment developed an arrhythmia. In the low-dose segment, 10% developed an arrhythmia but none died from it.

Are you telling me this is Amateur Hour, Samm?
How is this virgin territory? This drug has been around for 50 years. These are well known side effects.

I wouldnât say amateur ⊠these people doing these trials are highly trained and skilled. They just have no information to go on other then knowing what the drugs are designed to do and what side effects are known to exist. Its really no different than any other professional using a known product for something that it was not designed for because in the realm of their knowledge and experience, there is a reasonable expectation that it might work.
Perhaps you could write or visit Brazil and encourage them to change their research process to fit your standards.
The regulatory process to approve clinical trials in the country requires approval by two entities, an ethical approval by CONEP (ComissĂŁo Nacional de Ăticaem Pesquisa/National Ethics Commission) and a regulatory approval by ANVISA (AgĂȘncia Nacional de VigilĂąncia SanitĂĄria/National Agency of Health Surveillance).

It has never been used to treat the symptoms of Novel Coronavirus infection. That makes it virgin territory. I find it odd that you would even have to ask.
