Planned Parenthood now charges nothing. They don’t even recover their own costs for storage and transportation. The numbers I gave were when the initial video came out. Wasn’t illegal then, but now there’s no concern over profiting from $60. Crisis averted. Let me guess, it’s too late. $60 per specimen already made them rich beyond imagination.

Planned Parenthood said it is immediately stopping taking reimbursements for procuring fetal tissue for medical research, an attempt to tamp down controversy that has led to Republican investigations in Congress and efforts to end federal funding.

For reference, procurement costs for autologous bone marrow are $81,000. Procurement costs for a donated cadaver range between $500-1000, not including transportation. I don’t understand why people would believe it shouldn’t cost anything to procure a tissue donation. I guess that’s the socialism talking.

As a long, long recovering wingnut, I have never seen such a thing happen in the GOP. Have you? It’s been a one way ratchet toward crazyville for decades now. For me, a red flag came when Jesse Helms sandbagged Bill Weld back in the 1990s. I was writing about MA politics at the time and thought: Well, okay, fork in the road taken. Then Bush-Cheney. The “autopsy.” You want honest reflection and introspection? Course-correction? Judicious weighting of empirical evidence? A moral and intellectual framework beyond PUNCH THE LIBZ? You won’t find it in the Republican Party.

And the democrats actually care about anyone who isn’t a democrat?
