What was it in 2019?

It largely depends on the number of children. The cost to educate an ESL child in NJ is about $30,000/year. Healthcare costs around $10,000. Housing about $15,000. Meals about $5,000. So that’s about $60,000/year for a child.

The US military went on a nuclear spending spree in the mid to late 50s during Ike’s presidency.

He was hoping that nuclear assets would be cheaper than conventional assets.

Turns out that the costs are pretty equal all things considered. And a military built around only nuclear assets leave you in a less flexible position during crisis moments.

Conventional forces are more flexible.

To take these numbers further, supporting 1 million impoverished children even at just $50,000/year would cost US taxpayers 50 billion dollars. Then assuming a 20 year time frame would bring the cost to 1 trillion dollars. Clearly the open borders crowd would want this to go on for as long as possible. So then imagine doing this over a 10 year period, which would bring the cost to 10 trillion dollars.
