The humanitarian crisis in Mexico is the 250,000 killed and 37,400 disappeared in the last 12 years.
2300 killed between January and October of this year in Tijuana alone.
A lot of these “migrants” are fleeing violence in their counties and want to pass thru Mexico, to the USA, because it isn’t safe in Mexico.

An attempt to smuggle immigrants into the country illegally ended with three people dead and eight seriously injured in a crash in California near the Mexico border, authorities on Sunday said.
The eight survivors were Mexican immigrants while the driver was identified as an American citizen, Border Patrol said.

This coyote was a US citizen living in TJ I believe, so he had a lot to lose if caught. I mean if they are caught on the US side the “immigrants” just claim asylum, and are put into the system right? No need to run really. Catch and release.
