Capitalism VS Socialism for Dummies

They nationalized everything and destroyed the country in the process. Basically socialism.

Are there any countries that are further along the slope than us yet havenā€™t succumbed to becoming the next Venezuela?

So thatā€™s your measure?

Hereā€™s an idea.

Rather than continuing to point to Europe as a model for the U.S., why not simply move to Europe rather than trying to remake the U.S. into Europe?

once you confiscate private property the slope becomes a cliff. but you ask good leading questions

Europe still has private property. the DSA wants no property at all. or borders or usa

The OP is certainly dumb, you got us there.

Again with the equality of results.

Everyone has the opportunity to achieve whatever they set their mind to. Socialism offers nothing remotely similar.

Not everyone will achieve unbridled success, but the opportunity is there. That opportunity simply doesnā€™t exist in a socialist society.

Right wing talking points.

Itā€™s not a measure. Itā€™s simply asking a question. Are there certain countries in Europe that are more along the socialist slope than we are yet are not in danger of turning into Venezuela?

Basically equality of results. The concept of equality of opportunity seems to be a difficult concept to grasp amongst those who believe socialism is a viable alternative to capitalism.

Iā€™m very interested in serious discussion. Iā€™m not interested in rehashing tired old right wing talking points.

Pride and nationalism. The government leaders bought popular support from their people with the proceeds of their oil reserves.

The incompetence came later when they could not maintain the industries and then bad monetary policy.
