Canada will finally apologize for the refusal of refugee aboard the MS. St. Louis that hoped to find aslyum from Nazi Germany, they were refused and were later killed.
On November 7, the Liberal government will officially apologize for the 1939 decision to turn away the MS St. Louis, a ship carrying 907 German Jews fleeing the Nazi regime.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the announcement on a conference call with Canadian rabbis earlier Thursday, and then later took to Twitter to spread the message.
âThe St. Louis was carrying German Jews looking for refuge in Canada, but they were turned away under the âNone is Too Manyâ policy of the time,â Trudeau said in a tweet. â254 ended up being killed.â
Canada can apologize all it wants, such a weak country, but America shouldnât ever.
Activists in America could use those WWII events as an excuse for open borders in 2018. âif it was wrong in 1939, why isnât it wrong now? Be on the right side of history, open borders for all and for all time. No matter what. No thinking.â
In the USA⌠we kinda view it as government of the people, by the people, for the people. So⌠the PEOPLE who were part of that decision need to apologize. If none are alive, then at least their documented histories should mention it. If they are dead and have no documented history, then they got their just reward death and obscurity.
There is no other entity called âthe governmentâ that can make decisions in the absence of people.
And in case you are planning one of your cute little strawmen⌠the southern border has nothing in common with the St Louis. The Mexicans and Central Anericans are not genocidal maniacs, are they? And we already grant asylum to thousands.
Illegal border crossers donât even enter into this picture.
