Can Anyone Explain Gauged Ears?

I love when intellectually old people complain about kids. Sure I don’t find gauges attractive. I don’t like country music. I don’t like rap very much. I think anyone who uses “u” or “ur” is just annoying as ■■■■■ I can’t stand Cardi-B and think she’s a total Nikki Minaj rip-off and talks like Rosie Perez.

But in the 80s I liked hair bands. I had long hair. I’ve had my ears pierced 5 times. I like 90s punk pop. And tho I don’t have a tattoo I’m really considering getting a few. So I get gauges. I just don’t like them much. But I’m not gonna stand on my porch shaking my cane at the damn kids who have them.

Yep. I have two tattoos, both within the last year, and I may well get more. But I can hide all of them when I need to look professional. You can never hide gauged ears.

I find my skin to be the most attractive thing about me. So I won’t deface it on purpose. I’m a bit of an egomaniacal madman when it comes to my skin. I got blessed, what can I say?

One of my tats is on my leg. I had to shave that area before getting the tattoo two months ago and since then no hair has regrown where the tat is at. I shaved extra not knowing just how much room the tat would take up and the areas without a tat have grown back. I’ve seen people with scalp tatoos grow hair over them so I know it doesn’t completely suppress hair growth but I’m thinking it does limit regrowth.

You should just shave the rest to make it uniform. There’s nothing wrong with that.

I was curious because one young woman, when not wearing the jewelry, at least had a fairly even hole, but the other, who had the bigger jewelry, it looked as if the coyote outside our building had bitten a chunk out of her ear.

Yeah, it’s not new. I saw it starting in my college years in the early 90s. Was even friends with some folks who had them. I don’t like the permanence of them (at least with a tattoo, you can hide it during work hours depending on location on your body), but hey, who am I to judge.

Bordowung from other cultures is pretty cool, IMO, if it’s something you like & isn’t permanent if you change your mind.
