Electric heat fed from NG generating stations is a stupid waste of energy. Couple that with an already over taxed grid and your now within the delsuional idiocy realm.

As long as the nat gas is burned at the electricity plant and not in your home you’re good.

I may convert to a LPG heater. I’m not sure yet. I haven’t been too impressed with the tankless.

If you’re heating you house with blue flame heater…99.7 percent of BTU’s is being use as direct heat.

If you’re using NG force air, 93 percent of total BTU’s is used for heating your house. If you’re cooking with gas…99.7 percent BTU’s is being used to heat your food.

If you’re using NG for hot water…about 93 percent of total BTU output is being used.

If you’re using electric from natural gas you’re losing almost half of total BTU’s to during conversion, transmitting and heating elements etc.

I’m still waiting on a libs to justify this waste of natural gas.

You probably have hard water. A tankless heater often requires installation of a water softener before the inlet to preserve the life of the heater.
