Bees really do deserve their own level of societal respect and protection. We wouldn’t have made it this far without them.

Not really related to the topic of a bee being a fish but some interesting information on bees:
Unlike the well-known behavior of the non-native honeybees, there is much that we don’t know about native bees. Many native bees are smaller in size than a grain of rice. Of approximately 4,000 native bee species in the United States, 10% have not been named or described.
The bumblebee is a native bee to the United States.
It is strongly suspected that the American bumble bee was infected with a virus when European bumble bees were imported into North America to pollinate greenhouse tomatoes. It is also socially parasitized by Bombus variabilis, which itself has declined severely with few recent records showing this interaction

Just like Justice Roberts changing the obamacare penalty into a tax.
Can’t read the article as it’s an ad for a subscription. What is the proposed law here?
California decides bees are fish? Well why not?
They already think women are men and men are women so why not? Nitwits.

What is the point of all of this anyway? Who goes out hunting bees? The only time people kill or hunt insects is when they are on their property. If I have a wasp nest in the ground in my backyard, I’m not going to check the endangered species list. I’m going out there at night with a hose and some detergent, killing them all. Even bumblebees.
Back in the day I was running from them and trying to swat them and now I set out sugar water for them.

What kind of bee are we talking about? All bees and wasps? Honey bees? Bumble bees? I understand a bumble bee to be those fat hairy ones that jump from flower to flower, which are actually wasps. Or have many wasp characteristics.
The ones who pollinate are the only ones I care about. I just eliminated a hive of red wasps from my shed the other night. Wasps, yellow jackets, hornets, they can all die.
I angered a honey bee nest a few years ago on my front lawn. They gathered on my body. The further I went from my house, more and more flew off until there was none. I wasn’t stung a single time.
Last year I pissed off a yellow jacket nest I wasn’t aware of in my backyard by dropping a ball near it. They quickly gathered on the ball. I ran in the house. An hour later I was on my patio, roughly 30-40 feet away from the nest. I immediately got stung by one. That night it was over.

I used to have a half dozen beehives.
Used to rob the honey every so often. Much better than store bought honey.

Here’s more:
It sounds silly, but, it I’m reading it correctly, this was a move to get bees back on the endangered species list as invertebrates to keep farmers from using certain pesticides.

I still don’t get it. Invertebrate means no spine. Fish have a spine.

They could have amended California law to declare bees endangered in California and restrict pesticide use accordingly. The legislature was just too lazy.
yep. Fish have spines.
Elected Republicans? Wouldn’t it be nice?
