Umm what?

This is a fantastic fiction story…

Please so me one of my posts, in this thread, that has me declaring that this is pedophile driven.

I wasn’t referring to you.

I was referring to the many other posters here who claim these teachers are pedophiles.

You will note that in this specific response I didn’t identify “which” agenda the adults are trying to achieve through the exploitation.

Sounds like it’s been a while since you’ve been inside of a school. I WISH my youth included the same level of support that most schools offer now.

All we had for support was a school counselor… which is interesting because that would be the one person that would get a confession from a student who thought they were gay.

Don’t remember anyone call her a “groomer”

Then why ask me about the pedophilia discussion?

You replied to a conversation I was having with Six who thinks these teachers are pedophiles. I was continuing the thread of that conversation.

Fair. The tone of this thread, from conservatives, is that teachers are automatically assumed to be praying on students “grooming” them.

It is also assumed that they have a political agenda when doing so. Which is where I believe you were leaning.

Oh…lemme guess…where you’re at, school is no longer about getting an education?

I understand the “political” reference. LGBTQ+ is a prominent member of the progressive intersectionality wheel.

They are off on the pedophile tangent because it is easier to argue against. Most likely your arguments will be ignored.

It’s about that and so much more. I WISH I had access to the same tools/groups as kids do today.

School is not just about education… it’s about athletics, social interaction, nutrition, politics (yes, don’t pretend that you didn’t have class President elections), etc.

Kids today have far more support groups that extend beyond a school counselor or a specific after school teacher lead program.

Sex education happens as early as 5th grade in public schools in Florida… well that was 3 years ago so it may be earlier. One year I and another teacher had to fight not to have the class bumped up earlier in the year due to a sexting incident that started at the beginning of the school year.

And the suggestion that some people are just gay for political purposes?

LGBTQ+ is only political in the sense that they are fighting to be treated as equals. That’s it. Becoming gay for political gain is not a thing. I’m not sure what that would even gain you?

I think this is the reality that most older parents are forgetting about social interactions in this generation. Kids learn about EVERYTHING earlier than we ever did.

We cannot continue to apply old thoughts to new problems. Without the internet, it was easy to keep your kid sheltered from a lot of things until you were ready. Today? Not so much.

I actually think the pedophile angle, as primary object for the overwhelming majority of those advocating this, is unsupported. Pedophiles will attempt to insert themselves into any entity that gives them access to children as an authority figure. There probably is one or more pedophile(s) out there, who just happen to be public school teachers, who see this type of club as an opening to identify, groom and sexually abuse children. I just don’t see it as a driving force here.

I was literally how this thread began…

I didn’t say people were becoming gay for a political gain. Progressives see LGBTQ+ as an identity group to be exploited, just as they see minorities and any other identity group.

I think the fifth for equal rights for LGBTQ has become political because one side of the spectrum is vehemently opposed to it.

I don’t think making clubs for LGBTQ students is inherently political though.

If by ‘exploited’ you mean ‘fighting for equal rights’, then I agree.
