there will still be millions of gas cars on the road for many years to come after that.

And what happens in the future? Young people with limited income rely on used cars for transportation. What happens when the average used car needs a replacement battery that costs $25,000 or more?

And I still can’t buy an EV that I can take on a 600 mile trip in one day.

But you don’t give a damn about that and people like me.

I do give a damn. I take long trips myself. Also, for people who live in apartments or don’t have dedicated parking spaces or who live in rural areas where there is little infrastructure at the moment there will be challenges as things transition, just as there are always challenges when new technologies emerge. But if we didn’t progress just because there would be hiccups with new technology we wouldn’t even have internal combustion vehicles in the first place.

Yeah…and…there’s not enough electric to run the state NOW, & few if any new permits to build power plants. Better buy a horse…

I don’t care what California does on mandating electric cars by 2035. I suspect that’s where the world is headed anyway if there isn’t some technical glitch. It’s just funny to watch politicians jump in front of the parade and claim they did it.

Actually what they are doing is interfering in the development of technology. They think they can mandate it to happen.

There is an old adage; if you build a better mouse trap the world will come knocking at your door. When EV become affordable, reliable and superior to the internal combustion engine then we won’t need government to enforce a mandate to buy one.
