I’ve said this all along. If you are protesting policy brutality, go protest at the police department. Kneeling for the National anthem does have something to do with our country. If she doesn’t want to take part in standingNational anthem played at a sporting event then, come out afterward.

Fine. But as critical as you are of the government, I would expect it to help you if you got in a jam like Griner.

Moreover, the relationship of the citizen to the government is not the same thing as a relationship from citizen to citizen.

And again, I dint say they shouldn’t help her, I said she shouldn’t accept it. Just my opinion.

Your irritation has absolutely no bearing on her freedom of speech. If you don’t want to see it, close your eyes. Go get a hot dog. Whatever.

Yes but it is humans not a concept that makes the decision. They are not immune to taking umbrage.

Okay.

Maybe, but principles don’t change if somebody gets irritated.

Lol yes they do. Human nature. You see it all the time.

Now should it is a different matter.

Okay.

You have a very strange way of not complaining.

Nobody here is suggesting that disrespectful kneeling protesters should be denied their rights or lose their citizenship. Her rescue by the government from a foreign prison after conviction for committing a criminal act is not a citizen’s right.

Welp, sometimes it helps to know meaning of words.

You are seriously confused. Showing respect for what the flag stands for by following the rituals of flag etiquette is not worship, it is a display of patriotism to the county. That you think that is a religious act suggests that you know little about either patriotism or religion.

Its ■■■■■■■ stupid. Like I said we do not do it at any other event so why sports?

As for disrespecting America, well you could say that anyone who breaks a law whether its speeding or murder is disrespecting America and therefore not patriotic. What about those who have not paid their taxes? Is that unpatriotic?

Of course those examples are ludicrous just like standing for the flag does not automatically make you a patriot.

Did you miss my post where I said “why not”?

There is no correlation between laws and patriotism.

Nobody is suggesting that standing for the flag makes one a patriot. But it makes you respectful whether you are patriotic or not.

There isn’t.

Why does it matter where it is played? Why is it ■■■■■■■ stupid?

The US Federal government has provided $3.7B in tax subsidies for private sports stadiums, according to a Brookings Institute study.

When the buildings are subsidized by the US government, it is appropriate to show thanks by standing.

Well…that is a unique take that I haven’t seen before. So kudos for that.
