I was perhaps mistaken but I thought the kneelers both those showing their convictions and the faux photo op opportunistic wankers did so to show solidarity in protest of a US goobermint oppressive history of minorities specifically black Americans.
The US goobermint made a strange and questionable deal but exchanged Griner’s freedom for an international arms dealer that supplied all sorts of nefarious individuals and was arrested plotting to kill US military members at a base.
If Griner publicly kneels for the National Anthem at anytime anywhere, someone needs to beat (pronoun?) arse.

Truly the American thing to do.

Its all just posturing. There is no need to play the anthem at sporting events unless its an international event.
Like I said earlier we dont play the anthem before a movie, concert, opera, play etc so why sporting events?

Not sure what you are getting at. are you advocating committing acts of violence against someone who is expressing their right to free speech?
Surely there is nothing more American and patriotic as someone able to make their opinions known without fear of reprisal or other acts of reprisal?
What a country when we define someones level of patriotism due to whether they stand or kneel at a sporting event.
If her protest is against the US government , hence the kneeling then maybe she should have turned down the Unites States government help in her case.

It started following the wave of patriotism after WWI.

What about this Fogel guy, the school teacher?
There’s an old saying: “Shoot a few and the rest will go home”.
Metaphorically speaking that is.

So in order to deter individuals from protesting, we should beat up the ones that do.
Yet Griner shows no consideration for those who wish to exercise their patriotism, regardless of how few attend, a WNBA game she performs for.

I mean, that’s what you said. Did I misinterpret?
There’s an old saying: “Post a picture of a lantern and two emotes”

Well thats just stupid. Nobody would do that.
Just because someone is critical of the US Government does not mean they have to forego all involvement with them.
I guess she wasn’t that oppressed then

None of them are. They can’t even spell “oppression.”

You know how we can tell this is partisan claptrap? Consider a conservative blogger or commentator (who made their living criticizing Biden) was being held in Russia. Now suppose the administration let it be known that they weren’t going to work for his release. The collective outrage around here and elsewhere would shatter phones and blow out T.V.'s.

There is a grand canyon between disliking a politician and disliking the country symbol.

Nonsense. Free speech is free speech. Speech that you don’t like does not negate my citizenship.
