A lot of the Protestant loyalists in N.I would like a hard border because it would mean less likelihood of a united Ireland,unfortunately if the dissident republicans attack the border and border guards the loyalist paramilitaries will start the tit for tat killings like they did in the past.
Although people say there has been peace for a generation it isn’t quite true.There are still riots during the walking season,there is still a huge barrier dividing parts of Belfast along religious lines.It won’t take much to set it all off again
