United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May was dealt a historic and unprecedented defeat Tuesday evening; losing her key ‘Brexit’ vote in the British Parliament by a whopping 230 member majority.

Theresa May has sustained the heaviest parliamentary defeat of any British prime minister in the democratic era after MPs rejected her Brexit deal by a resounding majority of 230,” writes the Guardian.

“This is the most significant vote that any of us will ever be part of in our political careers. After all the debate, all the disagreement, all the division, the time has now come for all of us in this house to make a decision. A decision that will define our decision for decades to come,” said May prior to the vote.

The future of Brexit hangs in the balance, with members of Parliament calling for a “second referendum” as the nation’s impending divorce from the European Union is just weeks away.
