The proper name for the US should be “The United States of the Americas” and US citizens should be called “United States Americans”
Most Spanish speaking Latin Americans call US citizens “Estadounidenses” which is Spanish for “UnitedStatesians” lol

So all a country has to do is say “we dont recognize their us citizenship” and then they can torture and kill anyone they want…

Hell, the country doesnt even have to say it. Republicans will.say it for them…

Saudi law say that without specific permission from the saudi government any saudi who becomes a citizen of another country automatically renounces their saudi citizenship…

So either saudi revoked his saudi citizenship or they officially recognized that he was also a us citizen…

Either way, they know trump will do absolutely nothing about it…

It says so right there in the Declaration of Indepdence.

It says all men were created equal. It said all men were granted inalienable rights by their Creator.

It does not say that only all Americans were.

He entered Saudi Arabia as a Saudi citizen.

No. Because they won’t.

Jus solis is much older than england.

That is incorrect. It considers them Saudis unless revoked by the Saudi government.

You keep conflating jurisdiction and citizenship, as if the former changes the status of the latter…

It doesn’t.

And a U.S. citizen. Period.

He will be treated like any other U.S. citizen in the same circumstance by the U.S.

Not conflating them at all. You try to ignore the fact that he is a Saudi citizen in Saudi jurisdiction.

I agree. Americans go to bat for Americans regardless how they became Americans and especially regardless how some other country decides to view them.

Astonishing level of moral relativism being offered in this thread.

No, that’s not how it works.

He didn’t go into Saudi Arabia as a US citizen.

It’s irrelevant from the perspective of the United States relative to any other U.S. citizen. Dual citizenship is not a factor on our end.

So what?

He is a US citizen. He should be represented and entreated on behalf of by our government with exactly the same amount of vigor as any other American citizen.

We don’t have Citizenship Lite, here.

Yes it is.

Not in Saudi Arabia he’s not.

No it isn’t. Some of you are very naive. You should stay home.

Why do you give a ■■■■ what Saudi Arabia thinks? He’s one of ours.
