Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota confirmed Thursday she intends to ‘vote no’ on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.
According to the Hill, Heitkamp was speaking with a local television station when she weighed-in on Kavanaugh’s stalled confirmation, saying “The process has been bad… I will be voting no on Judge Kavanaugh.”
Heitkamp was one of just three Democratic Senators to vote for President Trump’s prior Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.
“I’m deeply disappointed with Senator Heitkamp’s decision to vote no on Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Clearly, she has decided to vote with Chuck Schumer, and not the people of North Dakota,” said her Republican challenger.
