BREAKING: Several gunmen, hostage situation, unknown casualties

Developing news from Los Angeles where reports are emerging that gunmen have taken several hostages at a Christmas Eve party. There is a heavy police presence and negotiations are underway to release the captives. It is believed some of the gunmen are foreign nationals. Reportedly some of the captives are wounded and may have perished. Thoughts and prayers to the victims and hopes for a peaceful end to the standoff.
