UPDATE: Local news station WKYT is reporting the Air Force Base has been given an “all clear” by the authorities.
Multiple reports of an active shooter at an Ohio Air Force Base prompted an immediate reaction from local authorities and emergency personnel Thursday afternoon, with the military’s official twitter account confirming the “incident” but revealing no additional details.
A spokesperson for the Wright-Patterson AFB posted an official statement through the base’s Twitter account, saying “At approximately 12:40 p.m. today, base emergency responders, including security forces and fire department, responded to a reported incident in building 830, the Wright-Patt Hospital. There are no additional details at this time. Information will be released as it is available”
All base personnel have been instructed to “shelter in place” until they’re given further instruction.
