Unless the law is changed to require the mental health profession to report such aberrant mentality to the FBI, there is not much the government can do to enforce that provision of the law. And if that were to happen, it’s likely that the mental health profession would sue and I would predict that the SCOTUS would find such a law to be unconstitutional.

If the prior committals were court ordered he should have been rendered legally ineligible.

Haven’t heard but if I had to guess I’d say most likely. It certainly isn’t a venue where on would be expecting armed resistance.
