Border at breaking point...It's a Nat'l emergency

The 2013 bill would have hired a bunch of new agents, as well as judges to handle the backlog of asylum seekers.

Radical republicans, like Paul Ryan and McConnell, worked to make sure the 2013 bill wouldn’t pass.

Either way, it’s not an emergency more than it was the day he took office or the day before he declared it.

Most Americans don’t want a wall. There are sensible solutions to problem at the border that some republicans don’t want because when they would work, they would take away the immigration talking point for 2020.

We need more border agents and tools, ATVs, Drones, cameras, canines… It costs about $25m per mile for a fence/wall. It’ costs about $1-2M per mile to to secure the border with technology.

We have been using more drones, cameras and sensors for the last ten years or more. All it does is record where the crossings are being made, it doesn’t stop them. Sometimes the agents can get there in time to apprehend, most times not. And they don’t do a thing about the trafickers that are bringing in children for the sex trade by claiming they are the parents.

I kinda did with official sources.

You think walls in areas where the response time is measured in hours or days are going to do anything?

Your eyes still work right?

The walls that are called for would do a heck of a lot more than just doing nothing. Property owners along the border have been begging for help for years in stopping the border jumpers that have been coming onto their lands, causing damage and stealing from them. Most of them are more than happy to grant an easement for the wall, especially since the authorities frown on shooting the invaders even in self-defense.

Also, my spouse and I both served way more time in the Army than most people do. And both of our kids were in the Persian Gulf/Iraq during the last actions, one as a Marine, one in the Army. Vets have already volunteered to help man the border but are dismissed by the bleeding hearts like Pelosi as potential vigilanties. We are willing to do our parts, most of us already have. It’s always the do-nothing bleeding hearts that expect us to take care of them and won’t lift a finger to defend themselves.

I wonder which right wing billionaire is funding this massive increase in crossing to help trump?

You are attempting to use logic to convince a Trumpleton against something their hero says is necessary. You might as well try to saw through the steel bars of a prison cell with a foot long length of dental floss.

Technology works better in the desolate areas than a would would.
By your own statement, the trafickers re bringing children across at ports of entry. A wall does nothing for that. More agents and judges would.

Technology has never stopped a law breaker. If it did, you wouldn’t see bullet proof barriers at banks, gas stations and convenience stores protecting the workers. Technology only alerts and records the event, it doesn’t stop it or even slow it down.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

That statement is has special written all over it.

They didnt volunteer. Troops were sent there.

Well… this explains a lot. Arguing against this type of logic is futile.

A border wall is going to lower the number of people detained…?

LMAO at the logic of righties…

The democrats and the media types who do nothing but repeat democratic talking points are not being honest with you. They claim that the illegal invasion is being reduced. Well not according to DHS. It’s much worse than CNN or Nancy would have you believe. Record numbers. You are being misled. Do not fall for it.

Sounds like they need more people and facilities.

I thought a wall only potentially increases the number easily detained? They need more people, not a silly wall…

How many people do you want in a U.S. detention facility. Is there a limit?

How many threads with the exact same premise do we need?
