So Booker went on the show for the express purpose of saying he felt like punching Trump?

Only he knows what his intended purpose of going on the show was. The point is, he made the remarks while on the show, regardless of what his expressed purpose of being there was. Lots of politicians go on these kind of shows … very few (has there been another?) ever express a desire to punch the President while there.

I remember John Kerry made some awkward, cringey remark about wanting to get the president - something about two birds with one stone. But it was such a bad attempt at off-the-cuff remarks it was just stupid.
