New York City billionaire Mike Bloomberg has reportedly told political insiders he may rejoin the 2020 race for the White House should Joe Biden continue his struggle to connect with voters on the campaign trail.

“Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York, has indicated to associates in recent weeks that Joe Biden’s recent struggles against Sen. Elizabeth Warren are making him rethink his decision to stay out of the 2020 Democratic primary, according to people familiar with the discussions. These people declined to be named because the conversations were deemed private,” reports financial website CNBC.

“I think it’s something he wants. He has not been shy about that,” said one insider. “Nothing can happen unless Biden drops out and that’s not happening anytime soon.”

Bloomberg -a former Republican, then Independent, then Democrat- served three terms as the Mayor of New York City.
