Do you think the IRS is corrupt? If so, why is no one doing anything about it?

Most of government is corrupt. Whenever we cons complain about the ways those in power amass wealth for themselves and their families you guys on the Left always say, well itā€™s not illegal. So I guess it makes it right?

change bureaucracy

Mighty broad brush youā€™ve got there.

I understand it would be difficult, but if the IRS is truly corrupt, it has to be done.

I didnā€™t realize Trump was still in control of the IRSā€¦ is he president now? Bidenā€™s completely incompetent and is keeping Trumpā€™s policies in effect?

You indicated that the IRS was in the pocket of the Democrats, and if thatā€™s true, Biden would have no motivation to reform the agency, but Trump would have. So Iā€™m wondering if he tried to do anything about it, and if so, what.

What happens when one of them tries to?

Iā€™m not sure. They get audited? I assume the other party fights it.

It looks like the Trump administration was fighting itself on this.

Did you read the article you posted? The headline says Trump was trying to cut IRS funding, but his treasury secretary fought him on it. From the article:

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, whose department includes the IRS, appears to understand that these cuts are misguided, stating at his confirmation hearing:

I am concerned about the staffing of the IRS. It is an important part of fixing the tax gap and I am very concerned about the lack of first-rate technology at the IRS, the issue of making sure that we protect the American publicā€™s privacy when they give information to the IRS, cybersecurity around that, and also customer service for the many hard-working Americans that are paying taxes.[1]
