I donāt blame the Bible. I blame the conservatives between 1619-1965ish who used the Bible as an oppressive tool. They interpreted the Bible in such a way that justified their atrocities.
The Bible is a tool to advance conservatism. However it is not required to be a conservative.
You mean the way Southern Democrats formed the KKK right after the Civil War?
You mean the way that Democrats enacted the Jim Crow laws?
You mean the way Southern Democrats treated blacks all the way through the 60s?
You mean the way George Wallace, the DEMOCRAT Governor of Alabama stood in that doorway to protest segregation of schools?
You mean the way SOUTHERN DEMOCRATS beat all those peaceful protestors at Selma?
You mean the way that Joe Biden fought against bussing and segregation of schools through the 70s because he didnāt want HIS KIDS to have to go to school in a āracial jungle?ā
You mean the crime control Bills that Joe Biden got passed in the 80s, that put so many Black men disproportionately in prison?
You mean the way Kamala Harris used those same crime bills to put so many blacks in prison for weed, when she herself admitted to using it?
You mean THOSE dangerous and oppressive things?
Now be good Lib and ignore all those truths because they donāt fit your narrativeā¦
It did not stop conservatives from using it that way.
āServants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.ā
There were different forms of slavery. Some of those were voluntary. What you have quoted applies to servants in general. It could apply to an employee giving faithful service to their employer. In any event, this still is not a justification or condonement of the American slave system.
In reply, Iāll just say that when one side brings shields, wears helmets, and plays military-man-dress-up ⦠they are coming there looking for a fight. And, low and behold, they found one.
You just proved my previous point about many interpretations of the Bible. You interpret it differently than conservatives in 1619. There are certain interpretations that lead to believing that owning humans is your god given right (see property rights)
there is more video to that as well. The Trump supporter in question started the confrontation. All of this is a disaster for everyone. No one is blameless here.
There is some foul language in this video but it includes the start of the confrontations.
Were the people who were attacked wearing shields and dressed military stile?
Is a shield also a defensive weapon used by someone who fears they may be attacked? Should they give up their first amendment rights instead?
