#blacksforbiden Steele endorses biden

This is all you have to know about this endorsement

From his own mouth.

“As I’ve reflected on matters of leadership, decency, and constitutional norms I am reminded of the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who said, “A man dies when he refuses to take a stand for that which is true.” Character matters. Our vote matters. The leader we choose matters. I cannot be silent, and I hope neither can you because we know a vote for Joe Biden is what is best for our country — because America matters.“

I think this endorsement is the epitome of country over party.

Love Bos’un

It gives me hope for the future that even in the midst of watching my former political party sell it’s soul for 4 years of power, there are members of the party still standing for principles.

I found the problem…

I, of course, disagree with Biden on many issues and policies, sometimes vigorously; and it is my fervent hope that he will pursue policies that will help our country heal. But this election is not about those issues or policies. Rather, it is about the course of a nation and the character of her people reflected in the leader they choose.

It is all about the policies.

The President is a figurehead tossed aside every 4 years for a new one.

michael steele is entitled to his own opinions, just like everyone else.

That said, I defended steele when dimocrats were running their race games against him in the past, throwing Oreos at him, calling him a sellout and “uncle tom” and “house (you know what)”. I guess he forgot those are the same people that he’s now joining.

I’m glad to have defended him, sad I voted for him.

Oh…shocker!

I love hearing establishment pigs…squeal. It’s music to my ears. Squeal pigs…squeal away. :sunglasses:

Well said. I concur. I sure like Steele on my side more than against my side.

I vote issues, not the person. Steele sounds like the kind of person who needs sports figures as heros. Well, that’s not going to work out for him either.

The policies of the next four years will shape the country’s future, not the President’s personality.

No Surprise.
A true Republican. I supported this guy from the Ehrlich/Steele ticket in 2002 to right now. I wish people understood how much of a good guy brother Steele is. PG County represent!

Better a pig than a Trump sheep. baaaaaa.

I don’t understand this.

The President, like a Head Coach in NFL, isn’t really there to teach Xs and Os. He has assistants to do that.

A Head Coach is there to set the culture and be a well respected leader. That’s it. Same with a President.

Trump is horrendous at his only job. Any Republican can do what he “did” policy wise. However not every Republican can be a true leader. Not every Republican can set the tone for a positive culture.

I tend to like people who have heroes they model, admire, and aspire to be like. They seem more human to me.

Appreciate that, but bear in mind that the course of a nation and the character of its people can and will be influenced by its leadership.

America is a resilient nation, we face hardships and we come back stronger. Always have in the past, but is that our destiny for the future?

In 2008 we face a liquidity trap, housing market failure and a crash in our economy while engaged in 2 protracted wars. The President, GW Bush, was a decent man and folks crossed the aisles to get things done. Obama was elected, a decent man, and that path continued. We wound up seeing new highs in the stock market by his end of second term, unemployment below 5 percent and a reduction in our budget deficit by 70 percent. All the while the Big 3 was saved, the housing market recovered and we had much less troops deployed, injured and killed.

Where have we gone since then? Are we better off under Trump? I don’t think so. His character is not as a decent man who cares for his country but rather a man who cares for himself. We are now facing a threat we have never faced before, autocracy. Can the President be above the law? Can he rule without Congress? Can he remake the court to support what he wants and eliminate the role of the Legislature and the will of the people?

Does the Constitution matter anymore? Should it?

Or is it all just about policies that we like, never instituted by congress but instead mandated from a ruler who has no oversight, no boundaries and no limitations on his or her power? And if we are truly willing to be ruled, is Donald Trump the person who we should be willing to shred our Constitution for?

I honestly don’t think so. I like the way we have handled things, more or less, for hundreds of years and I am not ready to be ruled by someone that flawed and vicious.

I disagree with your assessment of President Trump’s character.

Overall I find it no better and no worse than W or Obama.

The character that Trump has is that he actually delivers on his goals.

Most grown ups do not a model to show them how to live. Only children need idols.

I disagree. I hope I never run out of heroes to admire and emulate.

A lot of people don’t want to stop growing when they turn 18. Those who are more successful in life know that learning is a lifetime activity. Granted, a lot of 18 year old people think they know everything. Hopefully, by the time they reach 25 they realize they don’t even know all the questions yet.

Now lets talk about the person who really started us down the road to no longer needing congress.
We started facing a threat we never faced , autocracy under your man Obama. Remember Obama and his give me what I want or I will use my phone and my pen to get what I want.
The man has no character and only cares about himself. He was great at dividing the country and telling those of us on the other side of the aisle that he did not like us and did not care what we wanted.
He believed he was above the law and could do anything he wanted and he had your support no matter how much he crapped on the constitution.
Remember Obama and DACA. Seems to me he ruled without congress when he did not get his way.
You seems fine with Obama the ruler mandating without oversight. You were willing to be ruled by Obama a person who was willing to shred our constitution to get what he wanted.
Your whining about the court is just silly. No conservative is talking about stacking the court. That’s the left.
I believe we started down the road we are on because the left decided that they were going to get what they wanted and were willing to use every dirty trick they could.
I remember the passing of the ACA. The left used every dirty trick they could think of to get what they wanted. The left did not want to listen to the conservative voters. In fact they told us to shut up they won we lost.
I remember it was the left who ended the need for sixty votes to confirm judges.
I remember it was the left who used the irs to go after conservative groups because gasp they did not talk nice about their idol.
I remember it was the left who spied on a candidate for President. Sounds like something that Putin would do does it not.
I remember it was the left who acted like children after they lost.
You all didn’t like the way things were handled more of less for hundreds of years. The way you have acted since Trump was elected proves that.
You all were fine with the country being ruled by the flawed and vicious Obama so you can stop clutching those pearls.

Wrong… IRS went after anyone meeting a certain criteria. Just so happened that conservatives groups meet the criteria more than lib ones.

Wrong. DOJ recently stated no evidence of spying

Just like the right did when Muslim Obama was elected

Like when Obama called NFL players sons of bitches

Like when Obama told black/brown is born congresswoman to go back to their country

Like when Obama trashed Gold star families

Like when Obama had several close associate indicted or in prison

If Biden wins (that’s still a big if) I look forward to seeing all the current hysterics and fearmongering about socialism and transgender children and communist gay atheist muslim illegal immigrants pushing anti-American cancel culture seamlessly transition to “meh, the POTUS is just a figurehead anyway.”
