Yes … ruins is an apt description of their homeland.

It
Doesn’t
Matter

My family is owed. I’ll take the inheritance on their behalf. Thanks.

Before or after white people came?

I’ve been hiding under a rock these last few months. What’s the reference?

Really? I wish every person of color that has EVER crossed my path could testify for/against me right now. That day will come one day and I can truthfully say, I’m not bothered. I have nothing but love in my heart for anyone/everyone. There are those with some hate in their heart that merely see their own reflection. They point fingers at those they have absolutely no idea of what the actual truth is/isn’t about their accusation.

I you think you are owed, its because you are still a slave to your past. Get over it. Lots of us had ancestors who were enslaved. You don’t see us harping about wanting pay back.

Long before. Who do you think took your ancestors slaves in the first place?

I accept that you and your family are owed.

Can you specifically explain what you are owed and by whom?

This is an excellent post and I totally agree. If there’s such a thing as “white privilege”, that’d be it.

That would be me too and I mean no offense.

You have US slave ancestors? If so, congrats you get US reparations too.

To the US? Is this a trick question?

What? Millions (we will NEVER get paid what we are owed btw)
By whom? Let’s start with the government

Do you think slavery was unique to the United States?

The ability to shrug off racist labels is white privilege? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Nope and I’m not asking another slave nation to pay. I’m asking my government.

In the 60s: “Judge us not by the color of our skin, but by the content of our character!”

Today: “judge us not by our character, but give us things due to the color of our skin!”

Or both?

Demanding the latter excludes the former.

The fact that I don’t feel any pain as a result I’d consider white privilege.
