Yes, Jussie Smollett’s defense strategy was based on jury nullification. All it takes is for a hung jury is for one juror to vote not guilty because they don’t think Smollett should be punished for the hoax.
Given how Biden and the media pushed multiple hoaxes without punishment, that was not a bad strategy. Why should Smollett go to prison while the perpetrators of the fine-people hoax, the drinking-bleach hoax, the Russia-collusion hoax, etc. still have their jobs and continue to push the same lies?
