I’m in WA. It makes sense here because of the diversity of the counties (highly populated vs sparse).
Perhaps NC is more homogenous?

It has 3 metropolitian areas; Charlotte, Raleigh and Greensboro. Many of the other areas are big towns surrounded by rural areas. As you go towards the coast…the population is very sparse. Many of the counties in the middle and north have less than 100 people infected since this all began. “Social distancing” is the norm.

And not even the California law allows for mail in ballots to be sent to every single registered voter.

Only those voters who have been active in the last two elections…which will cut down on the number of ballots that are sent to an address where the voter doesn’t live.

And they will be validated the same way absentee ballots are validated.

The only thing changing is the number of mail in votes that will be received…and yes this has led to counting issues, not fraud issues.

Which is why Trump is moving on to his next talking point, insisting that if we don’t know the winner by Election night (and we may not), that shows there’s fraud.

Which is utterly stupid.

Just FYI in the past few days there has been a huge uptick in literature and messages coming from the GOP here in Pennsylvania urging GOP voters to request mail in ballots.

In fact, the law that created no excuse mail in voting in Pennsylvania in 2019 passed with huge bipartisan support.

While Trump has you convinced mail in voting is a “Democratic scheme”, GOP organizations on the ground are trying to undo his damage by running huge “get your mail in ballot now” drives in key states and districts.

The local GOP committees are actually quite annoyed at Trump for this…he’s killing them in areas where they already have or are trying to establish mail in voting advantages.

This mail voting / post office funding / liberal democrat mail in voting crap is perhaps the single dumbest made up scandal chuck and Nancy have dredged up yet.

Votes need to be cast securely and voters need to be matched with their ballot. 1 person 1 vote verified as a legal citizen and a verified legitimate voter is essential in this process. And that is the one element missing from this discussion.

There’s an established process…it’s called requesting an absentee ballot…that process is secure and available to anyone not comfortable with going to the polling place. We stand in lines all over the place…we can stand line to vote. We show our ID to do everything from check into a hotel to depositing cash in the bank to getting on an airplane we can and show demonstrate we are who we say we are to vote.

I grow more and more sick of Democrats daily.

I am not just referring to one. There are many.
And since no states (other then California) changed their mail-in voting laws I say that there is no such thing as “corrupt” mail-in voting. Trump is just doing what he did in the last election. He is setting it up so if he loses the election he will have a argument on why he lost. And I believe that he thinks that he has the power to deem the election void and stay in office. The man has proven multiple times that he does not have any comprehension of the limits of his office.

My friend those clowns are corrupt. I think I ve listened pretty closely to these arguments and the post office wasn’t a big deal to anyone until they started using Covid as an excuse for everyone to vote by mail. No where in the “everyone should vote by mail” discussion is there any mention from leftists of ballot security…chain of custody of the ballots…knowing who cast those ballots and knowing they were cast 1 time per eligible voter. Democrats just want to mail our millions of ballots and have a damn free for all.

Two things should be very apparent…1- leftist democrats are prepared to use any and all means to change this country forever and not in a good way. 2 - the coronavirus is the new global warming…it can be used by lefties as an excuse for any and everything.

During the last violent storm that came through, I opened the garage door to put my car inside and a small skunk ran in and hid behind the refrigerator that’s out there. Let me tell you…that was a trip getting him out. I do like the rural area more than the city. I’ve lived in both and prefer the country.

Yes that is what they pay taxes for, Maybe the Federal government should property use the money they collect.

Before you implement a new method of voting, you should have the sense to see whether the systems involved will support it. And you should start looking into it before you make any changes.
