I did take an oath to “render obedience to all appropriate orders.” I’m not an expert. But you could probably research it. My guess would be they take it on a case by case basis.
So is it basically a jurisdiction thing? Like police, national guard, FBI, can kill Americans considered a threat, but for the rest of the military to do it they’d first have to be declared non-Americans… like an act of secession? And therefore nukes and F-15s wouldn’t be used on Americans because they’d have to be declared non-Americans before the parts of the military that have access to those weapons would get involved?
The Left does not care about evidence of anything. Truth means nothing to most of them. I’m not sure most of them believe in truth. Look at Russian Collusion. They just want to disarm law abiding people, so they can’t fight their Tyranny. Period…!!
I mean how many times can you tell a lefits that criminals don’t follow laws. They know that, so who’s the real target…?
No problem. Perhaps some of our other members know.
A general question, not directed at you, I’m curious to whats the most powerful weapon legally allowed to be used on Americans if they are trying to overthrow the government via an armed revolt. Tank?
Guess again. We take the oath. But it’s never explained exactly what an appropriate order is. That would be up to a court martial to decide. For example. If I were ordered to shoot a prisoner, I would disobey. If I were charged, I would take my chances in court.
But you will not find any list of non appropriate orders. “Experts” are not going to find for you anything other than that. But as I said, you can try.
If the order violates the United States constitution or the UCMJ they are duty bound to refuse such orders.
Ordering massacres of American citizens would be an order that 99.9% of military personnel would refuse to participate in. In fact, it would drive them to the other side.
I wouldn’t expect anyone in uniform to shoot a prisoner… I’m talking an armed revolt to overthrow the government… the thing that some 2nd Amendments proponents say is part of its purpose and that Biden mentioned F-15s and nukes about.
Obviously this is not my area of expertise, but I was assuming, perhaps falsely, that the reason a member of the military would refuse to fire on Americans is because its not their jurisdiction.
Obviously the nuke thing is absurd because if it got to the point that we were nuking our own cities it would be because those people in that city are no longer Americans… and frankly it would still be dumb because then we couldn’t reclaim the city since it would radioactive. So yea, what Biden said was a little out there…
There would also be a lot of police and others that would refuse any order to massacre thousands of American citizens.
At that point everyone no matter their occupation would be choosing sides.
And since a lot of the people in the occupations of law enforcement and in the military are conservative I’m not sure how many leftist would be left to massacre conservative American citizens for the leftist.
