As I have said before on here, political parties do not nominate anybody perceived as being too far to the right or too far to the left. Republicans will always nominate a right-of-center person, Dems will always nominated a left-of-center person.
Sanders is too liberal to win the Democratic nomination, just like Cruz was too conservative to win the Republican nomination.
Joe Biden is leading the pack for three reasons: (1) He was the VP and seen as the next-in-line, (2) He’s seen as the most likely candidate to beat Trump and challenge him in the pie-throwing contest, and (3) Voters do not see him as a socialist or a moderate. They see him as somewhere in between.
It should be noted that the under 40 crowd loves Sanders on the Democratic side. The problem here is: These are not the dominate voting block. Dems appeal most toward minorities and older votes. These voters appeal to Biden, not to Sanders.

They say they don’t like Sanders, but if it comes down to a choice between Sanders and Trump they’re going to vote for the democratic socialist.

You got to hand it to the left, here they are facing one of the most unpopular presidents ever (so we’re told) and the mostly likely nominees will be a near 80 year old man who was wiped out in the 2008 primaries by both Obama and Hillary or another near 80 year old who is a socialist.

I could care less about someone’s age it’s just ironic since from the left we hear about the evils of the “old white man” and the nominees are the oldest white men to ever run, even older than Trump.
