If, they are able to somehow charge for miles drives, it would/should only target EV’s.

I agree a gas vehicle and/or hybrid that still uses gas, should not be double taxed.

Based on PA’s obnoxious taxes, I don’t trust anyone on them. We’re still paying a “temporary” tax from 1936. Taxes are worse than fentanyl to politicians.

Possibly.

But like cigarettes, they are calculating that demand for “driving miles” is relatively inelastic.

Damn near.

Ok…I get that,

This is what they do. They not so recently raised the gas tax 23 cents in NJ. But in the bill they had a provision that would raise it further if they didn’t get exactly the projected increase in revenue. They knew they wouldn’t because out of state drivers wouldn’t see the need to get gas before leaving NJ any longer. So up it went again. So now instead of getting the people out of state paying the gas tax, the NJ residents pay it in full. To me that’s a complete fail.

I know the names of all that voted for that tax. I don’t care what party they belong to, I vote against them in every election.

“I know the names of all that voted for that tax. I don’t care what party they belong to, I vote against them in every election.”

I just wish everyone did that. I hate seeing the same people getting re-elected despite giving their constituents the finger repeatedly. Sadly, most don’t seem to want to hold them accountable and risk handing over their seat to the other party, which seems like Stockholm syndrome to me. And then we keep ■■■■■■■■ like Pelosi and McConnell in office and wonder why nothing changes.

It depends.

Gas in NJ is still usually cheaper than gas in PA…plus I don’t have to get out of my car to pump it.

:sunglasses:

Debt doesn’t matter until the deficit is under control, especially in the context of trying to blame an incoming president on “doubling the debt” when he inherited a 1.5 trillion deficit. Obama brought the deficit down into a manageable amount and if Trump just kept the trend going we would have been paying the debt off.

Instead he blew it up by trillions while “fiscal cons” cheered.

Of course they did. They were getting a huge windfall out of it.

I’m not shifting argument… we’re still talking about you cringingly mentioning that Buttigieg is gay over and over again.

I mistakenly gave you the benefit of the doubt that you were bitter about Richard Grenell being snubbed, but I guess I was wrong and instead you just have an issue with his sexuality being mentioned at all.

The thing is that they just mentioned it when he was confirmed and not every article about him since… so it seems its actually more important to you then everyone else.

Why?

Very few republicans want it and zero democrats want it.

Well that’s yet another reason that sets me apart. I don’t care what Republicans and democrats think. It would work wouldn’t it?

I understand. But without them, nothing moves. Sad but true.

why is it “cringingly” when i mention it like what twice, three times maybe vs the entirety of the media and countless twitter accounts ?

interesting double standard

“we can say he’s gay but dont you dare”

Grenell didnt come up in the discussion at all

no please recall. you have the issue with it. remember now you were the first to point out that i mentioned it. so odd…

why? what does it have to do with his being “confirmed” etc?

i dont recall any such elation over Grenell in the sewer media

double standards are staggering.

Well yeah. But it’s 23 cents more expensive. Then 4 more cents on top of that because the 23 didn’t produce enough. I just know who not to vote for.

And Hey…isn’t that the cause of most of our problems these days?

And it has been ruled unconstitutional

Yeah…I know. It is still the best idea for getting control of out of control spending.
