“BREAKING: The Senate confirmed Pete Buttigieg as Secretary of Transportation with a vote of 86-13; the former South Bend mayor is the first openly LGBTQ cabinet secretary,” CBS News correspondent Ben Tracy similarly declared.”
“ “With a vote of 86-13, the Senate has confirmed @PeteButtigieg as the Secretary of Transportation. He’s making history as the first openly LGBTQ cabinet secretary,” CBS White House correspondent Weijia Jiang said.”
“ BREAKING: Pete Buttigieg is overwhelmingly confirmed as transportation secretary and, by a 86-to-13 vote, now becomes the first openly gay Cabinet member in American history," Washington Post reporter Matt Viser ”

Truth.
Also, “infrastructure” isn’t just roads

That’s true, but the magnitude of imaginary money is so much greater now. We have doubled the debt in a mere ten years.
And 40 years ago, the debt was about 25% of GDP. Today its almost 80% of GDP. Shocking!

Bridges, power lines, oil and gas wells, dams water and sewer.
My problem is that money for infrastructure ends up in cronies hands.

Yes, and I would totally support strong oversight and enforcement on any infrastructure bill.

According to the priorities. Do you want highways, airports, ports and a strong military, or do you want extended unemployment benefits, food and housing for indigents, and free health care to illegal immigrants?

I understand the need for infrastructure…but I know to much what goes on. Infrastructure is one of biggest industries for kickbacks…and yes bid rigging still goes on.
What was it the leftist were saying about cumo? That’s right after he killed a bunch of people they defended him.
Than when four woman had come forward and said they had been sexually harassed the leftist still said well let’s wait and see if any of this is true but if one more woman comes forward we will maybe believe all the other woman.
The left defend old bill to this day.
Plus they defend old hillary who went after the woman who bill assaulted.
Heck they defend all the lies old harry told. They defend all the lies schiff told.
They have a house member who was sleeping with a chinese spy still on the house intel committee.
Need I go on about the left circling the wagons and protecting their perverts and liars.
In fact they elected a pervert to live in the white house. Not only is the man they elected a kid sniffer. He has assaulted women. He is a liar. A crook. And he has a problem with stealing other peoples work.

So much diversity, that’s what’s important when choosing your cabinet.

National debt is irrelevant, the deficit is what matters. A 1 trillion dollar deficit reduction is amazing, if Trump could have done even a fraction of what Obama did we would be paying off the debt. Until the deficit is addressed debt doesn’t matter and is a distraction to confuse the uniformed.
Didn’t Dems reduce the deficit while they controlled gov? I’ll have to double-check

Media hails Pete Buttigieg as 'first' openly gay Cabinet member, snubbing former acting DNI Ric Grenell | Fox News
So a bunch of media sources mistakenly tweeted that he was the first (and a few have corrected their tweets) way back when he was confirmed and you keep bringing it up 2 months later, why?

It is in some parts of the country, but not everywhere. I worked in highway construction for a decade and highway design and contracting for 15 years. I never saw any cronyism or or bid rigging or corruption except for one gypo sub-contractor who tried to short his crew on wages. He was promptly shown the highway (no pun) by the Prime Contractor and blacklisted.

The National Debt is made up of the accumulation of deficits. It matters.

JayJay:
Highway taxes have been around forever…this isn’t new.
Changing from gas to miles driven is a way to grab EV drivers who don’t use gas.
Besides your question is a non sequitur. Infrastructure has to be paid for. You either pay for it via a tax or via a toll.
At least with taxes you aren’t paying foreign companies to double dip.
So I ask…do you prefer the double dip of foreign companies where you get taxed AND tolled (the plan Trump preferred), or just taxes?
Make your choice.
Except when they go to miles driven, the gas taxes aren’t going away. So if you have a gas vehicle, you’ll get hammered twice. ■■■■ that.
dont shift the argument
they were all giddily announcing he was “openly gay”
since this is so impt to everyone, i say it too
the end
Well, they didn’t phrase it as a slur…
A mileage tax is a horrible idea. Do they not consider the unintentional consequences? When it comes to taxes and just money in general, people change their behavior. You’d probably see a spike in carpooling. You’d also see a dive in travelling. How’s that for the economy?
