My very informal conclusion is you’re rare in that regard. However, the role of likability is huge in persuasion. Most of Biden’s career is built on his, reported, ability to engage well with people. And Ronald Reagan? You’ve heard the stories of people scheduling a meeting with him, axe in hand, and leaving with nothing because he charmed them.
