Many seeking asylum are still getting deported because asylum is a process and isn’t just automatically given when asked. There is already a huge backlog in the immigration courts and the requests for asylum are just adding to that. That’s why the admin has been trying to change the rules to speed up the process for immigration hearings.

You’d think the “illegal alien” hawks here would approve of faster deportations, but I digress.

Your link didn’t actually say that deportations have increased. It only said that these people would supposedly be facing deportation. The fact is that under Biden deportations have plummeted even though the number of illegals coming to the US has grown exponentially:

The OP source was a blog referencing a right-wing news source referencing a GOP press conference. Nobody mentioning the press conference mentions this online sign up the OP is referring to. The only video I can find in this one Fox put up on Facebook. I can’t find a transcript. I can’t find the video on YouTube (thinking they might have a transcript there). I watched the first 15 minutes and it was just the usual talking points, crocodile tears, and Biden bashing. I don’t have the patience to sit through the remaining half hour.
